FAQ
What subjects do you offer?
We offer a wide range of subjects such as English, Maths, History, Geography, Legal Studies, Economics, Greek, Business studies and Sciences. Please see the subjects page for more information.
Do you offer support for students with special needs or learning difficulties?
Yes! We have an assisted learning support department where Karene and our tutors work closely with the student, parent, and relevant psychologists to tailor the tutoring to the childs needs. We have years of experience tutoring children with ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, ASD, anxiety, depression, learning delays and difficulties, and many other needs. Please see our learning support page for more information and contact us if you have any other questions.
Why is tutoring important?
Classroom teachers have to divide their time across many students so it can be hard for each child to get the individual attention they need. Tutoring gives you child one on one time with an experienced tutor who can work at their pace, fill in gaps in their understanding and explain concepts in a way that suits how they learn. Beyond improving reuslts, tutoring helps students build confidence, develop good study habits and feel more prepared for tests, assessments and exams. Whether your child is falling behind, wants to keep up, or is aiming to extend themselves, tutoring with Clear Education gives them the support to reach their goals.
Am I locked into a contract?
No.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from Monday-Friday at 3:30-8:30pm and Saturday at 8am-1pm. If your child does online lessons then there is no specific time or day, this can be decided between the tutor and student as to what time and day suits best.
How long are your tutoring sessions?
We offer tutoring session of 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours. It is minimum 1 hour, we do not offer 30 minute or 45 minute lessons.
What happens if my child's tutor isn't the right fit?
Each tutor is handpicked by Karene and the administration team who matches the child's profile to the tutor to ensure that they match. If for any reason you are unhappy with the child's tutor, we can reassess and disucss why and based on these reasons we can pick a different tutor that may be better suited for you and your child's needs. We prioritise our children's learning and comfort.
Can my child be tutored in more than one subject and is there a discount?
Yes! We frequently have many students being tutored for multiple subjects. For most students they may do 1 hour with one tutor and then straight after do another hour for their next subject with a different tutor, that way they only have to come once a week. However, for studnets with 3+ subjects or if you're wanting a specific tutor who may only be free on specific days, we may organise tutoring across a few days. Either way we work with your schedule.
There is a discount for doing multiple subjects with us.
What does my child need to bring to their lessons?
K-6: For efficient use of lesson time we recommend students bring in their homework and any school test or quiz they have done. We have plenty of resources, worksheets, and books that we complete with the students too.
7-12: It depends on the subject but we recommend students bring in their textbooks e.g., Math text book, homework, exams and assignments, and assessment notifications.
How will I know how my child is progressing?
For K-11 we send reports in Term 1 and Term 4. For Year 12 we send reports in Term 2 (before trials) and Term 3 (after trials, before HSC). If you wish to receive other information you can speak to your child's tutor 5 minutes before the lesson ends.
Who do I contact if I need to reschedule a lesson?
You can contact your child's tutor directly and discuss with them what day/time works best for your resceduled lesson
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept debit card, credit card, bank transfer, and direct debit.
Can I move lessons from the end of the term to before an assessment?
Yes, and we encourge this! We want the lessons to be as productive and useful as possible. We encourage our tutors and students to plan ahead and as soon as they receive their assessment notification to infrom their tutor so that they can move the lessons accordingly.
Do you follow the Australian Curriculum for years 7-10?
Yes!
